Renters Booklet

Drawing from the knowledge shared by renters, the booklet offers practical, accessible solutions for improving energy efficiency without large financial investments, addressing challenges such as insulation, dampness, and mould.

  • A Sustainable Energy Community (SEC) is a community that works together to develop a sustainable energy system. To do so, they aim to;

    • be energy-efficient

    • use renewable energy

    • consider smart energy solutions

    An SEC can include a range of different energy users in the community such as homes, sports clubs, community centres, churches and businesses. In this way, an SEC connects sustainable energy, local economic development and public wellbeing.

  • To sign up for your community to become an SEC, you should visit SEAI’s website. There you will be able to find all of the information and next steps required to register your community in the programme.

  • Funding for SECs comes in many different forms, that are often unique to an SECs circumstances. Check out the SEAI website for more information on how to avail of funding available to Sustainable Energy Communities.
